LIVE AND KICKING
These days the new season doesn't even wait for the old one to
finish. 2004-05's official finale was Brazil's stunning 4-1
victory over Argentina in the Confederations Cup
Final on June 29th, eleven days after the Inter-Toto
Cup kicked off season 2005-06! And here at scottishleague.net
we don't hang around either. To celebrate
our fourth anniversary this site is
going 'live.'
That's right. From now on this site will be open for YOUR
contributions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.
Clicking on the new 'FORUM'
buttons at the top and bottom of every page will do precisely
that. It will take you into our brand new interactive
FORUM. You'll
be able to have your say on Scottish football and see what
other site users think about the Scottish game. And that's not all.
Our famous SFAQS
section is also live in the FORUM.
You can ask your questions any time you want and receive answers
far faster than you would waiting for the usual weekly update. You
can also answer other site users queries yourself.
Just be sure to give the right answer!
While anyone can read comments & questions, only registered
users can post contributions. Registration is easy and FREE.
All you have to do is click the register button on the FORUM'S
main page then click the appropriate part of the next page confirming
you have read and understood the forum rules. You will then be asked
to enter your details. All you have to provide is a user name, e-mail
address and password of your choice. Whether you wish to add any
additional details such as location, website, signature etc is entirely
up to you. An e-mail will be sent automatically to the address you
gave. Once you click on the confirmation in the e-mail, that's it,
you're registered and can start to make your own contributions.
The whole process takes less than two minutes.
To return to the regular site's home page either just use your
browser's back button or delete everything in the title bar after
scottishleague.net and press Enter/Return.
Of course all the regular site features will remain intact. This
page and the SFAQS
page will continue to be updated with
new features and questions throughout the season and newsletter
subscribers will keep on receiving regular e-mails informing them
of updates.
And, as we always do at the end of the season, you'll notice that
many of the club pages have been updated to reflect
the ups and downs of the year just gone. Additionally, attendance
figures on club pages have also been amended to include
more accurate totals received in the past year. All
figures for matches from 1961 onwards are now official as opposed
to estimated as are many from before that time.
Scottishleague.net was launched in July 2001 and
over the past four years has grown to the extent that it is visited
regularly each month by users from around sixty
countries. The site is also frequently quoted in the mainstream
sporting press both in the UK and overseas. It's been a hard slog
at times but worth it to establish a reputation for outspoken comment
on the game's present and as an authoritative voice on the past.
And this has been achieved without going into hock to commercial
interests. This site will continue to maintain full editorial independence.
Other than the occasional discreet advert for football-related books,
DVDs, videos etc visitors can be assured they can continue to browse
this site free from distractions such as pop-ups, 'free' prizes,
advice on financial matters or offers of medication to cure any
embarrassing physical problems they may or may not have.
That one-paragraph advert for ourselves is the longest you will ever see on this site!
The only difference you will see in the future is that instead of all
comments and questions being received and answered via the Webmaster,
site visitors will be able to interact with each other via the new FORUM.
It has been undergoing a trial run since the middle of June
and many site visitors have already registered and participated. You are cordially invited to join them. Remember, it's Free, it's Fun, it's Football.
