DAVID ROSS is an acknowledged football historian and writer. He is the author of 'ROAR Of The Crowd', 'EVERYGAME',  'Killie Greats', 'KILLIE -- THE OFFICIAL HISTORY' and 'SIMPLY THE BEST' an anthology of the greatest matches in every English and Scottish League club's history.He is also co-author (with Forrest Robertson) of 'The First 100 years of Hampden' - the official history of Hampden Park. David has written for a variety of football publications both in the UK and abroad. He is the only person ever to appear on the BBC TV programme 'MASTERMIND' to take British football as a specialist subject. He also appeared on ITV's 'The People Versus' where he successfully answered questions on 'Scottish Club Football since 1874.' His latest book - 'VERY HEAVEN' - is now available.

 

A freelance writer and journalist, David has written for newspapers and magazines for many years. He has been writing online since 1997 and was responsible for establishing a creative digital technology network for freelancers and small businesses in Cornwall. He was also a local Councillor in Middlesbrough in North-East England for over a decade and is a former parliamentary candidate for the Labour Party.

Born in Dundonald, Ayrshire in Scotland, educated at Marr College in Troon, Kilmarnock Academy and the University of Teesside, he has been a Kilmarnock supporter all his life. Having lived in Scotland, Teesside, London and Cornwall at various times, David now lives in County Durham with his wife, journalist & psychologist Josephine Gardiner.

 

The 'Complete Scottish Football History' series is the result of years of painstaking research which has taken David to libraries and bookshops all over the UK. This has been a work 'in progress' for over twenty years which can now, thanks to the world wide web, be made available to the public for the first time ever.
