Re: Scottish Cup

In the 1880-81 first round, the Athole v Whitefield tie [25 Sep] has been recorded as being awarded to Athole after a protest. I've found that this was actually the THIRD game, ending 2-1 for Athole after extra time, meaning there were two previous matches [on 11 and 18 Sep], presumably one of those...

Eglinton wanted to use the Racecourse but Cup rules prohibited public grounds being used so after a delay an agreement with Ayr Thistle saw ...

Re: Scoring in consecutive SPL/top-flight matches

And trust Allan to post such a comprehensive account of Evlyn's career. What a phenonemal scoring record surely worthy of an entry in the HOF?

Scotland Amateur Trials, 1950s

We were within touching distance of publishing our British amateur international work when up pops some long forgotten Scotland trials from the mid 1950s. The SAFA organised these and amongst others, QP Strollers featured in a couple. Does anyone have further details of the following matches, Forres...

Re: Scottish Junior Internationals 1937 and 1938

Litster has a Robertson being with Forfar from 1937-38, no other details though apart from being noted as a RB, the Robertson we have is a RH, close enough??? In any case, Robertson is omitted from the Courier's line-up so we can take it that Bingham did indeed replace Robertson from the original se...

Re: QUEEN`S PARK

I missed the 4 page spread in yesterday's Daily Rag, was it as in depth as their usual reporting?

Just noticed this was my 1000th post. Maybe that'll be in the Rag tomorrow!

Re: Definition of 'scrimmage'

I was always under the impression that a scrimmage was basically a free for all in an effort to get the ball away from the goal. I've seen reports that mention of scrimmages taking place with the end result of the goalkeeper and ball being bundled over the line!
