You can allocate a maximum of 3 votes for any individual title. Here's an outline of the case for the Scottish Referee http://www.soccer-history.co...

Re: Felix Staroscik - The first Pole in Scottish Football?
A somewhat uninformed article on the subject of Polish players in Scottish football appears in today's Scotsman http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/ ... -1-3991003. Ignores the presence of Polish players in Scotland in the period immediately after the war.

Re: Scottish Footballers Roll of Honour
Thanks for the information provided. Just to clarify: the problem I am having is that in quite a few cases players have been traditionally recorded as having been killed in action (and have been remembered on Armistice Day each year in recent times) but when I go back to the original sources I canno...

George Falconer (Montrose, Raith, etc)
I am trying to find details of George Falconer's debut in senior football. John Lister's disk says he made 1 appearance for Montrose (possibly as a triallist?) during 1965-66. Any ideas which match this was?

Re: Any info on Thistle?
To add a few points. The situation with the clubs in the 1860s (both in England and Scotland) is quite fluid. The London (i.e. Football Association) dates from 1863, however it was initially most important in London and the Home Counties of England. The Sheffield Association had separate rules and t...

Re: Sandy & Tommy Brown, Glenbuck Cherrypickers
The Ayr Advertiser for 30 March 1944 reported the death of Sandy Brown (ex Glenbuck Athletic, Tottenham, Preston, Portsmouth, etc) at the home of his brother in Granity, New Zealand. Report states he played for Glenbuck Athletic as a 16-year-old and that he emigrated to New Zealand 22 years ago (ie ...

Re: Stewart McLean
Many thanks for the responses. I had done some work in local papers which show the Partick/East Fife man was with Dumbarton but couldn't link him to the Forfar/Stenhousemuir player and the 2 versions of Litster's disk differ on this. Stewart McLean was clearly a regular for Dumbarton in the first ha...

Can anyone help out with a breakdown of his appearances and goals by competition (SL, SC, SLC) please. Also is there any definite evidence this is the same play...
