Re: Frank Christie
Frank had 2 spells with Scone as Coach. I don't think he was ever their Manager.
In between he was manager of Dunning Heather in the Perthshire Amateur League.

Re: RSSSF Scotland records - changes
Scotland played a couple of warm-up matches before the 1982 World Cup against lower division Spanish sides.
Unfortunately I cannot locate the details at present but I will have them somewhere.

Re: Official attendance query
Perhaps it never hosted a Full International, but it certainly hosted many minor ones - what about Shawfield?

Re: Scottish FA Northern XI
It was a North of Scotland FA Select they were playing, not a Highland League Select.
The Aberdeenshire FA appear to have played far fewer Select team games against touring sides.
Highland League Select games have been few and far between.

Re: Cowdenbeath FC 1880-2020
I would agree with all of that. The photographic content is particularly good with many pictures I had never seen before. David has not mentioned the two other superb historical booklets produced by himself in the last year - commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Cowden's promotion season in 1969/70...
Re: McNairn
Regarding the 1960/1 McNairn, his first name was Jim and Ashfield signed him in 1960 from Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. He returned to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy the following season and then joined Gourock Juniors for 1963/4.

Peter Rodrigues always used the anglicised spelling of his name. Long and successful pro career culminating in captaining Southampton to the FA Cup in 1976.
No idea whether his birth certificate says Rodriguez or Rodrigues. Perhaps the z comes from a copy taker making an assumption?

Re: Football League Review
There is a very detailed history of the Football League Review in this publication: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Soccerama-01-Football-Hyder-Jawad/dp/0956377424 Falkirk and Aberdeen certainly carried the Review for a short spell. I have a feeling that Partick maybe did so as well in 1968/9 - Arthur Dunc...

Re: Edinburgh Amateur Leagues 1960s and 1970s
In the late 60s and 70s the Evening News had an Amateurs feature one day a week - I think it was on a Thursday. It gave the results from the previous week, league tables and fixtures for the next week, plus a summary of news. Many teams told their players to check the Evening News on a Thursday to f...

The Campbeltown & District Junior League, sometimes known as the Argyll Junior League, varied ion size from four to nine teams. Most were from Campbeltown and its immediate surrounds but some were from further afield. The structure of the Scottish Junior Cup in the 1950s meant one place in the last ...
