[quote="LEATHERSTOCKING"]Regarding names of other big scorers, can anyone supply the 1st name or even initial of the following: Robertson & Munro of Arbroath in the famous 36-0 win over Bon Accord in 1885 & McGirl of Dundee Harp in the 35-0 win over Aberdeen Rovers the same day. Fraser Clyne's 36-0 ...

Yes, McColl scored his 6 goals in April 1910 for Queen's Park against Port Glasgow Athletic. Re: the comment about the Glasgow giants only contributing 5 double hat-tricks, I think that maybe the best individual tally for a club (albeit on league goals only) is Dundee with 4 - Brown, Juliussen (twic...

McGrory beats McColl, Brown, Gilmour and McBain
In one of the match reports for the Celtic v Dunfermline game in 1928 when Jimmy McGrory scored eight, it states that in doing so, he beat the previous record of six jointly held by R S McColl, David Brown, Jimmy Gilmour and Laurie McBain. The career of "toffee" Bob is well documented, but what abou...

Edinburgh City
I noticed the Scottish Cup ties this weekend featured a team called Edinburgh City. Any link to the embarassing outfit of the same name in the 1930s with the terrible record of always finishing bottom and conceding loads of goals?

Juliussen scores six - two games in a row
Following up on my interest in Alex Haddow, who scored 5 consecitive hat-tricks, I came across an Albert Juliussen, scoring a double hat-trick for Dundee in 2 consecutive games in the 1946-47 season. A google search also revealed he is in a select band to have played for both Dundee clubs. Can anyon...

Hearts and Hibs 21 goal winning margin
I noticed in the wee red book that the two Edinburgh clubs share a record wiining margin of 21 goals - Hibs beating 42nd Highlanders 22-1 in 1881 and Hearts beating Anchor 21-0. Can anyone tell me in a) what competitions they took place b) about the opposition and c) anything about the games themsel...

Haddow's five hat-tricks
I read on this site that an Alex Haddow of Kings Park scored five consecutive hat-tricks in the 1930s. Who was he and what happened to him?

Owen McNally's eight goals in a game
I noticed in a football annual that a number of players hold the record for scoring 8 goals in a game, all in the 1920s and 30s - McGrory, Dyet, Haywood, Calder and McNally. Lots has been written about McGrory and to a lesser extent Dyet (as he did it on his debut). Haywood's seems to be a statistica...
