Re: Another Montrose FC history

This book is now on sale at the Links Park Shop at £14. On Saturday when visiting I bought two copies as X mas presents for myself and Sandy "the suit", fair enough one thinks, but Sandy "the suit" bought 2 copies also 30 minutes earlier as X mas presents. Lucky white heather.

As his Falkirk career, he was to play against Stenhousemuir but sent a telegram saying due to a death of a relative he could not attend. Source The Falkirk Herald 2/9/1899.

Re: QUEEN`S PARK

Best to check local (Queen's Park) press, if Ian Bill pulled up in the warm up and Denham replaced him, the local Berwick reporter would not be aware and the number 11 shirt scored. Team lines were always phoned in 30 minutes before kick-off for the copy writers and changes were not welcomed.

Re: Junior Scotland v Scottish League clubs

After a wee look through the Falkirk Heralds, the Stenny Historian (no me) thinks he found the game from 1971. It's no '71 but 1979 (as Stenny played Albion Rovers on that date in '71). Mr Thomson scored 12 league goals in 1911-12 for East Stirling. I also have him missing two penalties, better to contact "The Shire" as their Historian issues some brilliant stuff in his programme page.
