Re: 1928 Scottish Schoolboys
It was played on 21 April. The Scotland team, and missing player, was: Johnstone; Hogg, Rennie; Hackett (Midlothian), McDonald, Muir; Colville, Burns, Mulheron, Barnes, Phillips. After losing 5-0, only Hogg, Rennie, Muir & Colville were selected for the team to play Wales on 5 May. Jim Colville (Que...

Re: West Fife Junior Cup 1915/16
Gogsy, I've come across the semi-final line-up in one of the papers and your information is correct - Hearts of Beath v Dunfermline and Lochgelly v Inverkeithing. No Glencraig in the last four, let alone winning it. I also doubt that Dunfermline reached the final but I can't find anything further.

Thanks for that, Gogsy. Should the abandoned match not be 23rd October, though?

Other than the fact that Glencraig Celtic defeated Dunfermline Juniors, could anyone help with details of the final of this competition, please?

Re: Edinburgh Inter City Team 1938
Boris, I know this is a long shot but I was wondering if your family is related to a John Whitelaw who signed for Dunfermline in 1912. He came from an 'Edinburgh junior club' but so far I've been unable to find out which one. After the war he joined Dalkeith Thistle so I'm assuming he came from the ...

Re: 25/8/1976 line up requests
Dunfermline: Whyte, Cameron, Thomson, Scott (Hunter), Salton, Meakin, Watson, Evans, Georgeson, McLeod, Ross (McIntosh).
The Alloa scorers were Campbell (penalty), Russell, Forrest & Wilkinson, and the attendance was 1,364.
Sorry, I don't know the Alloa team or the referee.

Thanks for the information. I'll pass it on to the gentleman who made the enquiry, if I can remember who it was. His memory is clearly better than mine.

Re: Scottish club record for consecutive appearances?
I thought Drybrough's was meant to have been a pretty poor pint - the pair of you make it sound like it was half-decent. I'm not old enough to remember it personally.....

Re: Scottish club record for consecutive appearances?
Dunfermline's Kenny Thomson made 192 consecutive league appearances between 15 September 1976 and 25 April 1981. He also played in 227 straight competitive matches between 15 September 1976 and 26 August 1981. Then Stanton signed Doug Considine...

Re: John Lamb Hibs player 1909-14
Seems to be the same player. He played nine times in the First Division for Third Lanark in 1914/15 and had a spell with Abercorn the following season. Dunfermline signed him from junior side Kelty Rangers in August 1920 and it was stated then that he was a former Hibs player. He couldn't break into...

Fifers and generous - there are two words you don't often see together.
Glenrothes lost that season's Junior Cup Final after a replay - they won it in 1975.
