Who would have thought or even dared wager a few short years ago , that The Scottish Cup & The League Cup would be sitting in the boardrooms of Highland clubs at the same time. Thats what makes the game, that it is.

Partick Thistle reserves 1966/67
I'm just getting round to filling in a few details in my records on reserve team football and it seems the Jags 2nd X1 played 4 Reserve League fixtures, on consecutive nights, between Monday 24th of April & Thursday 27th. Can anyone verify this? If they did, I'm assuming they must have leaned heavil...

No I stand corrected just looked in the Evening Times Johnny Arrol was in goal , but Kennedy is listed as goalkeeper in the match programme.

I'm pretty sure he was the goalkeeper in a league cup section game I attended at East End Park in 1970 when rangers put 6 goals past him.

He certainly was a trail blazer, his 1970 World Cup studio panel was a huge success, but I have never been impressed with the 3 points for a win that he successfully lobbied the Football League to adopt and the rest of the world followed suit. He wasn't a popular figure with the Tartan Army, but yes...

Thats him , he was 33 when he died and I also know he died in Birmingham .After leaving Birmingham City, he had a short spell at Dundee in the 64/65 season and then Portadown but his football career seemed to be over by the time he was 30 , for a person who scored something like 42 goals in a season...

I got his autograph outside Ibrox after a one all draw in their championship winning season , as we stepped out from behind the team bus he pulled me back by the collar of my jacket as I was oblivious to the fact of a passing car whilst talking to him . for that I was forever grateful. RIP Bertie .
