Re: Replays / Extra-time in 1946-47 Scottish Cup
That seasons Scottish League Cup sections were played over six consecutive Saturdays with no midweek games and one leg of the Quarter Finals was also played on a Saturday thus cutting into the seasons league game Saturdays. Coupled with a severe winter, post war austerity and the need of British Ind...

Re: Neil Brown
So sad, I too have consulted his site many times for info, will be sadly missed by us , and dare I say ,programme editors up and down the country for his stastistics . I hope his research is not lost , but the loss to our football family cant compare to the loss of his own family.

Re: Brian Hall RIP
I remember a few years ago , reading one of those Shankly things he came away with from time to time. Brian Hall whilst at University , worked part time for Liverpool Corporation Transport as a bus conductor as well as a part timer at Anfield. One night he turned up for training in his bus uniform a...

Re: Predictions for Season 2015/16
I don't think I'm alone amongst a broad base of various club supporters that would like to see a sixteen club top division, maybe not for the reason Doncaster would want, but for the overall benefit of professional football in Scotland and I don't think by adding Falkirk or Queen of the South into t...

Re: Clyde squad numbers 1966/67

Re: Jimmy McGill
Coming from Milton myself, there was an error in saying Scaraway Street was in Partick in fact it is in Milton and Jimmy did live there .There were no single ends in Milton as it was a post war edge of the city housing estate as Drumchapel & Easterhouse was. I don't know if the author was getting mi...

Victory Shield
I see England are not going to compete anymore in the Victory Shield as they think it has outlived its usefulness as preparation for under 16 English footballers. So sad . I just wonder if there is a connection between this decision and the rest not backing the EFA wanting to compete at the Rio Olym...

According to the death notice, Harry passed away suddenly at home on the 14th April and it looks like he had 3 daughters and a son . I only knew his son Gary .
