Perhaps the most shocking error of all came after the game. This is from Martin Greig in The Herald: "Ferguson is old enough to realise that occasions like these are a rarity, both in a player's career and a club's history. This was the biggest night of his life; the opportunity to become the eight...

Why did he buy Hearts? Seriously - what was his motivation to buy a Scottish Club in he first place and then why did he set his heart on Hearts?

Aye - but just wait until Aiden McGeady (the young and old player of the year) is running at that defence....!

Terrors? I can't recall the team being called that for some years. I remember the term "Tangerine Terrors" but this was back in their heyday of the 80s when they were skelping some big European teams. Arabs = Dundee Utd for me. The club, the team and the fans. Why they're so keen to displace the nic...

And this straight from the official Motherwell website: Pitch Update Following the postponement of the Scottish Premier League clash with Celtic last Saturday (15th March 2008), work was carried out to identify the issue regarding the substrata below the surface of the pitch. Investigations involvin...

I really don't think that John Boyle is going to get anywhere near 5000 extra OF punters through the turnstiles at Rugby Park as he would get at Fir Park. Especially with the disgruntled nature that the Celtic fans are developing. He'd also have a lot less pay at the gate Well fans turning up as the...

According to BBC, the next two home games from Gretna will be played at Almondvale. This must be another blow for Gretna as Fir Park is bigger than Almondvale and Celtic is the next home game. Don't think it will make that much of a difference as Celtic haven't been taking as many fans to Fir Park ...

I can see the Gretna v Celtic game becoming a Celtic v Gretna game - with a big revenue share in place for Gretna.

I remember Billy from Motherwell and I was singularly unimpressed in him as player or manager.

I don't want him near the Scotland job.

Just an aside - I was at a North Lanarkshire sponsored football panel Q&A last night in Motherwell and McGhee said that the refereeing performance from the Well v Gers game was abominable and one of the worst he'd seen. Now I know he was surrounded by Well fans but I'd be inclined to agree with him ...

I'd disagree with the Times saying Kirkie was the best signing for Motherwell. Surely the £50k we paid Rangers for Davie Cooper was our best signing?
