Re: NLS Visit 2016?

It's still on Syd. If there is anything in particular that you want Iain to bring out on the day then please post so I can give him plenty of notice. Personally, if I can fill in a few gaps in my Third Lanark research then it will be a successful trip. There are four of us going so far: Myself, Shaw...

Re: Third Lanark v Clyde 08/09/1883

Thanks for the info Brian, very helpful. I have quite a few Scottish cup gaps from the 1870s and 1880s, so if anyone can help further then that would be a great help. I will post all my gaps later.

Third Lanark v Clyde 08/09/1883

For the above mentioned Scottish Cup match I am missing the team lines, goalscorers and half time. Would anyone be able to advise of a source?

Glasgow Charity Cup 1886/87

Third Lanark played Vale of Leven in the first round of the Glasgow Charity Cup in 1887. I have found a match report for the replay on 20th April 1887 (http://londonhearts.com/scores/images/1887/1887042001.htm) but am having trouble tracing the date and match details of the first tie. I assume that ...

Re: Gaps in the Library

I agree that an update to Lammings book would be a Great Leap Forward, especially with the excellent research carried out by Andy Mitchell. Personally I would like to see a complete record of each senior club being published. Quite a few have already been published, especially for the 'bigger' clubs...

Re: NLS Visit 2016?

Hi guys, Just to confirm that Ian Scott has booked us in for the NLS visit on Saturday morning 19th November. The room is booked between 9am and 1pm. Hoping that some of you will be able to make it along. A visit to the Hearts museum is also possible if you don't need to rush away to a game. If you ...

Re: NLS Visit 2016?

Was really looking forward to 20th August. If it was more suitable for everyone we could try to set up a midweek visit to NLS, for me a Monday or Thursday evening is best as working the other nights. Let me know your thoughts.

Re: NLS Visit 2016 CANCELLED

Ian Scott has now been back In touch regarding the NLS visit. I am afraid it can't go ahead on 20th August due to lack of time to organise as well as staff being on holiday. We can organise another date for October or November. It's probably best to do this as soon as possible to allow Ian plenty of...

Re: Scotland v Ireland 1887 - who was the referee?

The archive of Scotland matches at the RSSF also has Alexander Hunter as the referee. I think the source would have Been an IFFHS publication from the 1990s. The IFFHS had contributors from most countries so it's likely that the information came from an Irish source since there is no indication of t...
