Yeah, still accurate, though worth noting of course that capacity at the time of that Dundee game was only 6,412 with part of that capacity inaccessible to the public too so it was too all intents and purposes a sell out.

We've increased capacity twice since then and it is indeed presently 8,690. We might have beaten the 6,278 this year but it looks unlikely now. The rearrangement of both home matches against Rangers to midweek evening kick offs live on tv scuppered the first one (6,185) and will probably prevent the second one likewise beating it. Drawing Falkirk in this year's Scottish Cup Q-F and the BBC picking it up live and moving it to Friday night too will likely kill off another possibility. There is still the chance of a home playoff game against Hibs or Rangers breaking it though.

"Partick – 13,141 / 10,022 v Rangers (Premier), 21 Dec 2002"

"Partick Thistle Firhill Stadium 10,102 9,045 Celtic/League 23 Aug 2003"

^ Surely the 2002 crowd figure still stands or am I missing the point of what you're trying to do?

I might have been a bit tired when I reviewed the list, but I think that according to Rothmans the game v Rangers had a 8,022 attendance...

Ah, I see.

SPFL and BBC sites say 10,022

http://spfl.co.uk/premiership/fixture/2151411/

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 593579.stm

Having said that, they could be one and the same source which could be wrong. Strange that they would be so precise with the wrong figure though.

Looking at the video, I'd be inclined to think that the 8,022 is more likely. The North Stand is only 2/3 erected and the South Terrace / Main Stand enclosure were both unpopulated (bar a small number of disabled and helpers).

We do have a larger attendance than your newly quoted figure though:

13.04.2008 Rangers [h] L0-2 (Scottish Cup Quarter Final replay) Att: 9,909

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 343165.stm

I would comment that the ground was absolutely packed on that occasion, with the North Stand construction (behind the goals) fully complete. That figure came from the club and was also quoted in the media.

Just one Jags amendment: The December 2002 game was indeed on the 22th. However, both Rothmans and the Scottish Football League Review give 8,022. As in many cases, the even difference (of 2,000 in this case) seems to be a little bit suspicious. Hence, the 9,909 Cup crowd looks to be the largest recent attendance (confirmed by Rothmans and the Official Football Yearbook 2008, btw).

Though it would be above the stated capacity of 20,897, the attendance for the Aberdeen-Dunfermline play-off in 1995 is usually given as 21,000.

The "classic" capacity was 22,568, then it was 21,634 when the Richard Donald stand was built, then 22,199. I hadn't seen these other numbers before.

And a new record was set last Friday: 7,492 at the Falkirk Stadium.

It was 19,387 with 15,977 for the East End Park leg.
