Seems Hamilton switched some of their games from Saturday to Friday to avoid clashing with Hamilton Races. This was certainly the case for the games against Hibs in 1933 and 1937.

I read somewhere that the Hibs games on Friday nights at Tynecastle early in 1924-25 were due to St Bernard's also sharing temporarily - and they'd got in first with their sub-lease.

IIRC both Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County made a habit of this in the 1960s & 1970s to avid clashes with the Merseyside and Manchester clubs respectively. Also, not Friday nights as such but I'm pretty sure there have been several occasions Ayr United have staged early Saturday kick-offs to avoid a direct clash with the Scottish Grand National.
