Re: Online Sources
Additions to the online British Newspaper Archive this week include a good number of issues of "Athletic News" covering the years 1910 to 1911; 1922 to 1926 & 1930. Some very decent coverage of Scottish football.

National Library of Scotland have just added findmypast to their free online resources, see https://auth.nls.uk/eresources/browse/title/F
I haven't explored fully yet but this could be incredibly helpful, especially as it includes BNA access.

Alas, the BNA can only be navigated as normal, and not viewed by page...ScottishFA wrote:National Library of Scotland have just added findmypast to their free online resources, see https://auth.nls.uk/eresources/browse/title/F

Why can't I view this record?
National Library of Scotland provides free access to a number of findmypast's historical records, but unfortunately this collection isn't included.
Create your own findmypast account to view this record or sign in with an existing account.

Re: Online Sources
I tried accessing via NLS, however it appears the info available is very limited and looks to be a taster for anyone wanting to create an account with FMP, although I'd be delighted to be shown otherwise!

Re: Online Sources
I must be having a better experience that you guys, as I can get into the BNA this way - not to mention the 1939 Register and the full set of World records.
I think the answer is that, as well as entering the site via your NLS log-in, you also have to register with Findmypast. Just registering with them is free, you don't need to commit to anything. In my case, I have had a sub in the past, so I just used the same log-in details.
I noticed that the URL for NLS searches always starts with http://search.findmypast.co.uk.connect.nls.uk/
However, sometimes the 'connect.nls.uk' bit drops off, and it reverts to normal findmypast and at this point of course the site demands a subscription. So you have to go back to the NLS home page. I guess this is just a glitch in the system rather than an obligation to purchase.
Hope that helps.

Re: Online Sources
I am having mixed results with Find my Past through the NLS. It seems to be allowing me to access their records ok, but not the BNA. I will try what you said and login to their website first to see if that makes any difference. Thanks for letting us all know about it Andy.
