The venue is Easter Road and the player is Hugh Howie I think. Looks from the sequence (see
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 600&type=3) that it is a presentation before a match, so it may just be a player award or something.
Just trying to date the photos - must be post 50/51 as the East Terrace has been enlarged already. The fact that the policemen are not wearing helmets may also be significant - all I can find on that is that they were phased out in the early 50s as the use of police cars increased.

Any chance it might be the trophy awarded to the winners of the annual charity match played in the 40's & 50's when an Edinburgh Select would play against glamour opposition at Easter Road one year, Tynecastle the next? Think it was known as the Allinson Trophy?
