Re: Dryburgh Cup
Drybrough surely?
Anyway, ref in the 1972 was Bill Mullan of Dalkeith.

Re: Drybrough Cup
Ha ha, well spotted, Andy! God knows what I was thinking there, I've altered the pages on the site accordingly.

Re: Drybrough Cup
I'm at work just now , but I have the two Hibs V Rangers programmes, as I was at both games and its possible I filled the scorers times in, will have a look when I get home
Re: Drybrough Cup
Yes I did have the goal times penned in. The referee in the 1972 semi final was JCB McRoberts of Wishaw and the half time score in the 1973 semi final was 0-0 Goals were scored by Bremner 53rd minute, Parlane equalized a minute later and Higgens on as a sub for Gordon , I have in my programme notes as 102 minutes, but I'm not sure if that's the time he came on or scored the winner, but he definately scored the winner.
Re: Drybrough Cup
I noticed that in the 1972 Semi Final you have missed the time of Alan Gordons first goal which was 47 minutes.
Re: Drybrough Cup
Sorry Alan Gordons first goal should read 49 minutes.
Re: Drybrough Cup
Cheers, Rob. That leaves the attendances of 6 games and the half-time score of United v Dunfermline in 1979. A big question mark hangs over the referee of the Celtic/Dunfermline game in 1973, with two papers giving different officials! It appears one was due to officiate but called off for some reason and a replacement was used.

Re: Drybrough Cup
Once again I'm at work but was also at the 1974 Hibs V Rangers semi final , one of the last games I was at before coming to New Zealand, will look through my programme notes tonight to see Harpers goal times.

Re: Drybrough Cup
Looking at one of the pictures on the Celtic wiki site you can see the referee - looks like JPR Gordon to me
Re: Drybrough Cup
1974 Semi Final my programme scribbles gives Harpers first goal as 62 minutes but I hope I'm not causing confusion here but Ive got Alex McDonalds goal as 21 minutes and Joe Harpers 2nd goal as88 minutes. I have never done programme notes at an actual game always from the next days papers, so I guess a minute here or there by different hacks is always going to turn up. In those days I used to buy the Daily Record in Glasgow City Centre if I had just came off a train from an away game, or just after 10 when the pubs shut (yes they did in those days ) when I was at games in The Greater Glasgow Area ( Paisley, Clydebank ) .
Re: Drybrough Cup
To add somewhat more confusion the 1974 Semi Final Hibs v Rangers programme lists Bobby Davidson as the ref and not Charlie Hutton as given in SFH, possibly another late replacement.
Re: Drybrough Cup
Cheers, Rob R. Goal times were always a contentious part of a match report!
