Attendances Queries

I have been collating some attendances for matches involving Dundee and have not some discrepancies or indeed no crowds were listed (nor are they listed in London Hearts which seems to have accurate figures for most league games).

I would appreciate any confirmation or comments people have on the following:

[Partick Thistle]

There are almost 500 instances, 1963 to 2007, where exact attendances in the Thistle history book differ from the exact attendances at London Hearts. The 70s to 90s are where they most condensed, in an equally prolific way. I have these isolated on the back burner for future attack, but whatever the problem is, it probably relates to yours Barry, and perhaps the same answer could apply.

I list a 15 game sample of the problem, spanning three decades:

I've checked old Rothmans books and can submit the following:-

1975-76 6312 - 10009 - 6460

1974-75 13391 - 4500 (v Partick, not Motherwell) - 22197 - 40702

1973-74 58250

1970-71 8000

1969-70 64546 - 5000

That's as far back as Rothmans books go. However, Byrne's book on the Scottish Cup confirms the 28th January 1967 as 23000

Not sure whether this helps or muddles.

Vasco thanks for these details and for pointing out my error with Partick Thistle in 1974-75 it helps clarify most of the games.

"Partick Thistle" these conflicts in attendances are so frustrating (although certainly Dundee's list is less than Partick's one you have). I was under the impression that the figures on London Hearts were taken from the official figures referred to by "Scottish" in his articles on average attendances
