Looking for the line ups for these League Cup sectional games as they are not mentioned on the following day's Herald.

Motherwell v Clyde
Raith Rovers v St Johnstone

For the same match, the Raith Rovers history says:

Raith: Walker, Robertson, Candlish, Robinson, More, Thomson, Steen, Russell, Ballantyne, McCulloch, Harris (sub Gibson 69).
Goals: Ballantyne 38, Russell 71, Gibson 90.
Att 1,310.
Kennedy (St Johnstone) sent off 84 mins.
Ballantyne (RR) missed a penalty.

Sounds like quite a night!

And from the Motherwell history:

Motherwell 3 (McClair 3), Clyde 1
Att 2,389
Motherwell: Sproat, McLeod, McClelland, Carson, Gahagan, Clinging, Conn, O'Hara, Forbes, Wark, Cleland. Subs Coyne, McClair.

Unfortunately no info about sub timings in the stats, but the book text confirms that McClair came on for Clinging before the unusual feat for a sub to score a hat trick.
