Maryhill Hibs/Harp

Post by brir500 » Fri May 02, 2008 9:24 pm

I have written a book on the History of the above junior club called 'The Maryhill Hibernians Story'. The club was formed in 1923, changed name in 1939 and folded when it lost its ground in 1967.

It is along the lines of my other book 'Up and Down the Hill' which was the history of Maryhill FC but smaller, 90 pages, mainly due to the shortness of the club's life and the lack of newspaper coverage of the unpopular Scottish Junior League which ran in opposition to the Glasgow League. Maryhill Hibs had strong links with Glasgow Celtic at one time and many players represented both clubs. The most famous being Bertie Auld, Duncan MacKay, Peter Scarff, Willie Miller, Frank Haffey and Clarlie Napier. The book has player lists by season, results, scorers, photos etc.

Anyone interested in a copy (£6 plus £1 p & p) please feel free to contact me at
