Computer Literate People?

Does any one know where I can get hold of text recognition software? I had a programme before but it somehow got deleted off my computer

The only two required elements are that one its simple to use as I am not one of the above and two its free because not being one of the above I cant get a decent paid job so any spare cash goes on necessities like football and drink.
