
It tells in detail the story of the five 'unofficial' internationals, and how they led not only to Scotland v England on 30 November 1872, but also to the first rugby international the previous year.
The book also has biographies of all 75 association football players who took part in the matches, with many photos and stories never previously published. I have been in touch with descendants of a number of long lost players, including Scotland internationalists Robert Smith and William Ker.
