Deaths During Scottish Games
Can anyone help me with this piece of research: Apart from the Celtic goalkeper John Thomson, does anyone know of any other players who have died during a Scottish senior football match, or as a result of injuries sustained during a match?

James Dunlop of Abercorn died in 1892 after he fell on a piece of glass during a match. Tetanus set in thereafter and he died in his early 20s. See www.stmirren.info for more details

'Big' Bob Mercer died in a friendly at his home town of Selkirk playing for Hearts in 1926. He had been gassed several times during the war.
