Rangers The Complete Record

Post by Gersman » Mon Jun 20, 2005 12:00 pm

Original version of this can cost over £100 these days. There's a new edition coming out at the start of the season for £20. See here http://www.breedonbooks.co.uk/publicati ... 34817.html

From Breedon's website
Containing information on every game, every scorer, every player and every attendance. Covering memorable matches and manager profiles, as well as appearance records, this book is a must for the book shelves of every rangers fan
I've got the original and can vouch for what they say

Is it truly 'complete'? or just the major National competitions?

has several Hearts vs Rangers friendlies and other competitions like the 'Inter City League'.

Also how much detail does it give on oppositions teams?

Would you believe it? I can't find my copy. Probably borrowed by a 'friend' and not returned.

Can't remember all the details offhand about those particular leagues but it certainly had a lot of friendlies, testimonials etc in it, not just the three domestic tournaments and Europe.

I've got the new one ordered. Ask me again in August when it comes out and I'll let you know

I think today's the deadline if you want your name in the Supporters Roll of honour in the book.

Just for information for Rangers supporters (and anyone else interested in this book)

Retail price for this at Breedon is £19.99 plus £4 p&p. At Amazon it's £13.99 and if you buy something else to make your order up to £19 it's post-free (or you could order the Rangers book and, say, just picking a book at random, maybe 'ROAR Of The Crowd' from Amazon for a total of £21.98 and save a couple of quid). Just a thought.

However Amazon say it won't be out till October while Breedon (who are the publishers and should know) say it will be available in August.

Turns out they didn't know after all. Breedon now say it'll be published in October.

I bought a copy of this book in 1996. I suppose it will be just an update since 1996. I recall supplying some stats for this book.

I think it will be an update. I can't find my old copy. Breedon are now saying it will be the END of November before it's available.

Can't beleive I started this in June and its still not out. Last date on Breedon's site said Dec 1st. I asked Amzaon what was happening and this was their reply

We have found that there is a delay with the item "Rangers: The
Complete Record (Complete Record S.)".

We have passed your enquiry to our ordering department who will
determine if there is going to be a longer delay with our supplier,
or if this delay is just short term.

We will contact you by e-mail when further information has been
received - typically this can take between 2-3 days.

In an effort to compensate for the inconvenience that might have
caused I have issued a promotional gift certificate for 3.00 GBP.

If anyone else has ordered this through Amazon they might want to ask where it is. Three quid isn't much but at least its something off your next buy and I don't think they give the voucher automatically

Maybe they're waiting to get the new manager's face on the front.

In that case they know something we don't. Just had an email saying it's been sent out.

So a good week in prospect. Last 16 of the CL on Tuesday, new book should arrive Wednesday and a new manager on Thursday.

All the friendlies, plus Inter City and Glasgow leagues, Glasgow Cup, Charity Cup etc. There's over 120 pages devoted to 'other' first class games stats. Not much on opposition( wouldn't expect there to be really but full Rangers line-ups, scorers, crowds, dtaes, venues etc

750 pages in total - that's my xmas reading sorted

Oh well, as a famous philosopher once said, two out of three ain't bad. Was that a philosopher or was it Meat Loaf?
