Re: Oldest ground still used by the same club

Maybe not the oldest one club ground but Anniesland in the West End of Glasgow can take the laurel as the oldest continuously used football ground in Scotland. Jordanhill Football Club started playing on Anniesland Park south west of Anniesland Toll(junction of Great Western Rd, Crow Road and Bearsd...

Re: 1967 Oceanic Tour 5 games updated to Full Internationals

Good news about the 1946 internationals. Thus, Bobby Brown remains the last Queen`s Park player to be "capped" @ full international status.

I`ve come across the McQUEEN CUP which is new to me. All I know is Dornoch & Brora Rangers met in January 1894. Does anyone have any details - years played, clubs etc.?

COLOURS

Is this the first time in an Edinburgh derby when one side has worn an ""away" strip? I don`t recall a Celtic/Rangers game when an "away" one was worn. When did Rangers change from Manchester City like light blue(hence the nickname) to royal blue?

Re: Great Players in Scotland

I`m sure it`s my pc - a mind of its own. I`m sure on the sly it goes off for a coffee then comes back,"Now then what was he wanting to do? Oh yes a post on the scottishleague.net website wasn`t it? I`ll do it in a minute once I`ve rearranged the keyboard so he types the words all wrong. Tee hee." Pa...

Re: Great Players in Scotland

I wonder why an initial post doesn`t appear until I`ve waited for a half an hour then appears when I`ve sent another one. The rotter(not the first word which sprang to mind).

Masopust also played for Czechoslovakia @ Hampden on 26/9/1961 in a World Cup qualifying game. Masopust & 5 others played in the Final vs. Brazil the following year. Is he related to Lukas Masopust?

Re: Who was 1870s player George Duncan (Thistle)?

A new name to me too. George is an unsual Scottish Christian name in the first place and the only Duncan I have in my records around the possible time is one who played as an outside forward for 2nd Sandyford vs. Queen`s Park Juniors on 13/2/1875. James G.Duncan played for Alexandra Athletic in 1878...
