Stirling Albion book
I received this book today. I was expecting a book with full match details but there are only goalscorers and appearance totals. However on a more positive note everyone that buys a copy of the book will have access to all information online. Not sure when this will happen though.

Re: Stirling Albion book
Received my copy. An impressive work of 212 pages, slightly over A5, thoroughly illustrated in full colour.
After some intros/history/etc. there are pen pics of each manager. Most of the book devotes a double-page to each season containing on left a team photo; a few bulletpoints of significant, interesting or unusual facts; and summary table of appearances / scorers; on right a list of results with dates / scorers. As well as the 4 main competitions this appears to include some others e.g. Victory Cup, East League Cup, South Qualifying Cup, Spring Cup; albeit not others e.g. St Mungo Quaich Cup, Drybrough Cup, Anglo Scottish Cup. There's also a double-page every decade summarising each season in a paragraph. Book concludes with pages giving career details of their "Top 50 Players".
Altogether an excellent publication. Well done.
It would be decent value in itself at £15 but absolutely so given this info on flyleaf:
We have also had to limit the content - the book would have had to be three to four times its size to contain all the information we would have liked to include. Purchases of the book will be given free access to an online book. This will include team lists for ever game played, including friendlies, pre-season tournaments and local cup ties, such as the Stirlingshire Cup, Penman Cup and Dewar Shield. It will include details and photographs (where available) of every player to have signed for the club or played as a trialist. It will include the results of reserve games played over the 75 years.

15 quid for the book PLUS access to an extensive database, what a bargain!

Re: Stirling Albion book
Did other purchasers get sent a link to the online database? Just occurred to me that I heard nothing more.
Re: Stirling Albion book
Was wondering the same thing. There is no link in the book that I can find nor is there any indication in the website. Don't see any code or indicator in the book to prove purchase either.

Nothing thusfar.

I've been in touch with one of the authors and told 'Been very time consuming but almost done'. Purchasers should be contacted soon.

Heard nothing and that's 8 months gone. Did they drop the idea?ScottishFA wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 11:43 amI've been in touch with one of the authors and told 'Been very time consuming but almost done'. Purchasers should be contacted soon.

Likewise, had heard nothing. So I've just asked and got the surprising (but welcome) answer: 'Hopefully by end of week. Will also be printing hard copies.'

Re: Stirling Albion book
Jim Thomson e-mailed last week to say he was having problems due to the size of the file and he was hoping to fix the problem in the next few weeks.

Lucky you! I'm still waiting. Can you ask Jim if there is going to be an email going out to all purchasers?

Re: Stirling Albion book
Jim Thomson had sent an email a few weeks ago asking to reply to his email if I required access to the database of games and players. Not sure if you both replied to that initial email.
